“So what’s your story?” I heard the man ask the girl sitting in the corner booth of the coffee shop. I glanced up from my cinnamon coffee and devotional book to see what she would say.
“I’m not sure I have a story,” she replied, “my life hasn’t really mattered that much.”
I was saddened by her response, not because I knew this girl, but because I was once this girl.
If you look at the woman I am today, you will see a confident, bright, warm, happy, successful woman, but that hasn’t always the case. Of course, God disagreed with my assessment of me, and the cool thing is, He never stopped trying to convince me that He had big plans for me.
It took a lot of healing and love to mend my heart and engage me in actively participating in the story that my creator began the day I drew my first breath.
I wondered if the man would come by and ask me the same question, “What’s your story?” I would probably say, “I’m still writing it but the chapters so far are amazing, sit down and I’ll tell you about my co-writer and the journey we’ve been on so far.”
So my question to you today? What's your story? Have you shared it with someone? Do you know that you matter? That every experience you have ever faced matters to God and can be the story that enables someone else to find Him?
Start telling your story, and don't forget to engage your Creator in making the future chapters something amazing!
